2014

Even though JD lost the election, he didn't lose his sense of serving the community. After losing the election, JD spent time recuperating (campaigns take it out of you) and reflecting. The following day, he celebrated his birthday and he got right back into the community working. He hopes this shows his fellow Hoosiers about his character and work ethic. He has not stopped since.

  • Helped organize the anti-RFRA rally at the Statehouse and spoke at the rally
  • Spoke at the rally outside the City Market and City-County Building
  • Volunteered with the Indianapolis Northwest Indianapolis Traders Point Horse Show
  • Served on the Scholarship Selection Committee for Northwest Indianapolis Kiwanis
  • Helped advise a City-County Council race
  • Testified before the Carmel City Council in support of passing a Human Rights Ordinance
  • Volunteered for the Gregg for Governor campaign
  • Helped to staff the Boone County Dems table at the County Fair
  • Sponsored an IPS classroom by providing supplies for the class
  • Supported the Top Ladies of Distinction as a Silver Sponsor
  • Served as an Election Official for my precinct
  • Walked with State Rep. Ed DeLaney for the Pride Parade
  • Supported the IMPD Mounted Patrol Unit
  • Supported the EMS Memorial
  • Attended the Labor Rally on the Statehouse Lawn
  • Volunteered at the Hoosier Hills Food Bank
  • After learning about a tragic fire that claimed the life of a boy in Wayne Township, JD donated 6 smoke detectors to Trustee Andy Harris for the installation of homes in Wayne Township
  • Volunteered at the Wayne Township Breakfast with Santa

2016

  • Served on the Northwest Indianapolis Kiwanis Scholarship Committee
  • Continued volunteering with the Gregg for Governor and served as a surrogate
  • Volunteered with Northwest Indianapolis Kiwanis at the Zionsville Brick Street Market
  • Walked the picket line at the Honeywell facility
  • Served on the Baron Hill Advisory Team
  • Supported the After School Coalition
  • Served as a State Delegate for the Indiana Democratic State Convention
  • Served on the Resolutions Committee at the Indiana Democratic State Convention where I worked with Greg Purvis to sponsor and help pass a resolution for campaign finance reform
  • Spoke to the Marion County Young Dems about LGBTQ issues with the fabulous Dana Black
  • Conducted a Ride-A-Long with Indy EMS
  • Toured the Indianapolis Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation
  • Volunteered for the US Conference of Mayors
  • Spoke at the Anti-Trump Rally that was held at the Columbia Club
  • Volunteered for State Representative Karlee Macer
  • Served as an Election Official for my precinct
  • Volunteered at the Wayne Township Breakfast with Santa
  • Supported the College Democrats at IUPUI

2017

  • Serving as the President of the Wayne Township Democrat Club
  • Attended the Made in America Rally
  • Served on the Special Olympics Eagle Creek Volunteer Committee and volunteered on the day of the plunge.

  • Attended the Dangers of Being Black and Femme: A Panel Discussion. Hosted by Indy 10 Black Lives Matter
  • Certified as a Naloxone (Narcan) Laysaver under Indiana Aaron's Law.
  • Attended the anti SB 309 rally at the Statehouse

  • Attended the Affordable Healthcare Act rally on the Circle
  • Attended the Day without Immigrants rally at the Circle
  • Attended the Community Conversation hosted by State Rep. Karlee Macer to better understand situation with Rexnord and Carrier employees

  • Volunteered for the Angelman Syndrome Walk in Carmel
  • Supported Zionsville Police Department by buying a #BeZelkaStrong t-shirt
  • Volunteered with Indy Honor Flight for the Clean-Up of the Indy 500
